We got power yesterday afternoon--108 hours after the blasted Santa Ana winds came roaring through town.
I definitely realized how much I take our modern conveniences for granted. To celebrate the return of electricity last night I: did a much needed load of laundry, used my hairdryer after my shower, turned on the Christmas tree lights, charged my computer, phone, iPod, and Bluetooth, bought a new carton of soymilk and put it in the now empty refrigerator, checked my email from home (yay internet!) while sitting in front of the toasty warm space heater, and T cooked up a big pot of yummy winter root vegetable soup. I must say, it was a very indulgent evening, but it felt so good!
